About us...
Un Jardín Propio is a resin and botany project that we have been planting and cultivating since 2016 in Mexico City.
It began with our curiosity about flowers, a growing desire to collect them and learn about their origin, meaning, and properties. From forests and other wild areas, as well as from parks and flowerbeds in Mexico City, this collection of flowers, leaves, and branches grew. At first, we kept them in books, notebooks, or any compartment that would preserve the shape and colors of each plant.
Once we learned that there was a resin with which flowers could be encapsulated on any type of surface, our minds were blown by the endless possibilities before us.
We threw ourselves into experimentation and, in a self-taught way, we found the techniques, times, and materials that best suited our search.
In April 2020, in the context of the pandemic, our lives and ways of working were reshaped. We had the opportunity to consolidate a broader project and include more people who, with all their knowledge and dedication, have enriched this project.
Out of our admiration and respect for nature, we offer with this work small gardens with flowers that we collect, press and encapsulate.
Just as each flower is unique, so is each of our pieces.
